Overview
The Reaction Roles module lets members assign roles to themselves without needing an administrator. You can create panels for verification, notifications, color roles, game roles, events and more.
Each panel uses one interaction type: Emoji, Button or Dropdown. Arcis keeps published panels synchronized with Discord, so changes made in the dashboard update the existing Discord message instead of creating duplicates.
Each Reaction Role panel can only use one interaction type. Emoji, Button and Dropdown items cannot be mixed inside the same panel.
Getting Started
- Open the Reaction Roles module from your server dashboard.
- Choose a starting template.
- Select the Discord channel where the panel should be published.
- Customize the message content or embed.
- Choose Emoji, Button or Dropdown as the interaction type.
- Add role options and connect them to Discord roles.
- Save and publish the panel.
Create the Discord roles first. Arcis can only assign roles that already exist in your server.
Templates
Templates give you a fast starting point. They provide example text, a recommended interaction type and example role rows. You still need to select the actual Discord roles yourself.
Start from Scratch
Use this template when you want to build a fully custom Reaction Role panel. It starts clean and is ideal for custom communities, games, events or any other role setup.

Notifications
The Notifications template helps members subscribe to the updates they care about. It is designed for buttons, because buttons are fast and clear for frequently used roles.
| Recommended type | Button |
| Best for | Announcements, livestreams, events, product updates, voting and social notifications |
Colors
The Colors template lets members pick a name color or cosmetic role. This is best used with single-role behavior so members only keep one color from the panel.
| Recommended type | Emoji |
| Best for | Name colors, cosmetic roles and personal preferences |
General Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The internal panel name. This is only visible inside Arcis. |
| Channel | The Discord text channel where Arcis publishes the panel. |
| Message Type | Choose between a normal message or a Discord embed. |
| Reaction Type | Choose Emoji, Button or Dropdown for the entire panel. |
| Allow Multiple | Allow members to keep multiple roles from the same panel when supported. |
Message Builder
The Message Builder controls what Arcis sends to Discord. For embed messages you can set an embed title and description. You can also add normal message content above the embed.
Use embeds for most panels. They are cleaner, easier to read and give your Reaction Role panel a professional look.
Reaction Types
Emoji
Emoji panels use Discord reactions. Members receive a role when they react with the configured emoji. Arcis can remove the member reaction after assigning the role to keep the reaction count clean.
- Best for verification panels.
- Best for color roles.
- Best for small role selections.
Button
Button panels use Discord buttons. Members press a button and Arcis assigns or updates their roles. Buttons support labels, emojis and button styles.
- Best for notification roles.
- Best for game roles.
- Best for frequently selected roles.
Dropdown
Dropdown panels show all role options inside one Discord select menu. This keeps the channel clean when many options are available.
- Best for larger role collections.
- Best when you want a compact layout.
- Best when the panel would otherwise contain many buttons or reactions.
Publishing
Publishing sends the panel to Discord. Once a panel is published, Arcis stores the Discord message ID. Future saves update that same Discord message whenever possible.
- Publishing a draft creates a new Discord message.
- Saving a published panel edits the existing Discord message.
- Changing the channel moves the panel by deleting the old message and publishing a new one.
- Deleting a published panel also removes the Discord message.
You can safely edit published Reaction Role panels. Arcis updates the existing Discord message instead of creating duplicate messages.
